Vehicle Performance Testing

Vehicle Performance Testing

Performance, durability and vehicular behavior in real conditions of traffic, orography, congestion, general conditions of the roads, urban and suburban.

In this project, the vehicle is subjected to accelerated wear and tear in common use, to detect faults in parts, components and systems of the vehicle; In addition to verifying the functionality of the vehicle in the different operating conditions, and with it, providing a report of preventive and corrective measures, to achieve the adaptation of the vehicle to the context of the country.

To carry out the durability and performance test on a vehicle, the mileage distribution is made for the different roads, which must be traveled and divided into three types: highway, mountainous terrain and city.

To determine the performance of the loaded vehicle, a dead weight that simulates passengers is placed in the rear seat and in the luggage compartment.

The tests will be carried out with a combined weight of 25 and 250 kg, including the weight of the driver.

  1. 1.75kg rider weight.
  2. 75 kg passenger weight
  3. Distribution of 75 kg of weight in the rear seat of the vehicle.
  4. 25 kg or 250 kg of weight distributed.

The necessary safety checks are performed for the test vehicle before starting the test.

Before starting the tour of the vehicles, the data of the different parts subject to wear are collected; tires, brake system and the different fluids used in the vehicle, in order to obtain reference values.

There is also a photo session of the different parts of the body, engine, tires, etc. The aforementioned components are constantly monitored for wear and damage suffered with respect to mileage in the durability test.

PREPARING THE VEHICLE FOR THE DURABILITY TEST

TO COLLECT THIS DATA, THE FOLLOWING IS MEASURED:

  • Coolant temperature in the upper hose.
  • Coolant temperature in lower hose.
  • Engine oil temperature.
  • Transmission oil temperature.
  • Room temperature.
  • Vehicle speed.
  • Engine RPM.

OBD CHECK AFTER RIDES

This measurement offers a record of the failure and its possible causes, for each failure that occurs a specific code is assigned, this code is governed by the J2Q12 standard and is a code based on 5 symbols and digits.
